What actually happens when you give up your phone for 8 days

The first two hours are the worst. Your hand keeps reaching for a pocket that has nothing in it.
By the evening of day one, most people stop reaching. By day three, nobody talks about phones at all — they talk about the road, the cold, the food, each other.
We have run enough offline trips now to see the pattern repeat: attention comes back before mood does, sleep improves around night four, and the group bonds far faster than any trip where everyone is half-present.
You do not need a retreat or an app to get this. You need a sealed pouch and a week.
